The Dog House is a beautifully furnished large space located with uninterrupted views of the countryside.

Elizabeth and Julian warmly welcome you to ‘The Dog House’. It is a first floor studio with beautiful views over the Purbecks in Dorset. Close to the market town of Dorchester, the Dog House is the perfect location to relax, walk, cycle and to explore the beautiful surrounding area. Within a few miles there is Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Swanage, Studland and Kimmeridge, to name but a few. There are stunning footpaths and bridlepaths where you can trek or cycle for miles enjoying the peaceful countryside or the dramatic Jurassic Coast and the Jubilee Trail is 50m from the house. There are many attractions including Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Moreton Walled Garden, Corfe Castle, the Swanage Railway and Clouds Hill. Further activities include the Purbeck Shooting School and the Dorset Golf and Country Club.

It has its own private entrance and is separate from the main house. Inside there is a very comfortable Super King bed, which can also be made into two singles. Two armchairs, where you can relax and look at the view or catch up with the TV. It is equipped with all the essentials such as Wifi, a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer. Please note there is no oven or hob in the studio. There is a fold-out desk should you wish to work, and the bathroom has a large walk-in shower and heated towel rail.

Guests will have their own parking location on the driveway.

We can recommend a selection of excellent restaurants and pubs for eating out, plus help with local maps and directions for walks.

Please note all bookings are subject to these terms and conditions and maybe subject to change without prior notice.

We require a 50% deposit of the cost of your stay within 7 days of booking by BACS.

A confirmation email will be sent at the time of booking with bank details.

All deposits are refundable in the event that we are able to re-let the room for the length of your stay as long as it is not within a week of the booking. We will make every effort to re-let the room, failing this you may be liable for some or all the cost of your booking.

No pets and no smoking are allowed in the studio.

I stayed here for about a month and had an awesome experience. Private studio above garage with double bed that converts to 2 singles and separate bathroom with kitchen area that includes mini refrigerator, microwave, kettle and toaster. So could eat in as needed, plus there was a nearby Co-op for food shopping. Great location to see local sites and as a homebase to visit many other historic and tourist points of interest. Close to train station. Comfortable and clean with access to WiFi and multiple TV channels.  Wonderful hosts who are helpful and attentive. Perfect for short term or longer stays.

The accommodation is newly fitted out and is large and spacious with a kitchenette and living area with en-suite bathroom. There are great views of the surrounding countryside from floor to ceiling windows. It is set in a peaceful location and Liz is a very welcoming host. Would highly recommend.
